The Role: As an LPN in these Units, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical and surgical needs. This role involves close monitoring, administering treatments, and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and health. Your expertise will be essential in creating a safe, responsive, and patient-centered environment for individuals dealing with acute conditions and post-surgical care.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, high-quality care to patients, managing both acute and stable medical-surgical conditions in accordance with care plans and best practices.

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize any changes in patient condition, escalating as needed.

  • Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments, while assisting with diagnostic tests and procedures as required.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and adapt individualized care plans for each patient.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-discharge care, and preventive health practices to promote recovery and overall well-being.

  • Maintain a safe and organized environment, following all clinical protocols, infection control measures, and unit procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current LPN license in good standing within Saskatoon.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS certification is an asset.

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in acute care, medical-surgical, or related nursing settings.

  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Job Description – Foot care Nurse

Job Title: Foot Care Nurse (Bilingual – English/French)
Location: Clinics, Community, and Home Visits – Quebec

Position Overview:
We are hiring a skilled and compassionate Foot Care Nurse to provide specialized care across Quebec. This role focuses on assessing, treating, and managing foot and lower limb health for seniors, clients with chronic conditions (such as diabetes or vascular issues), and individuals needing preventive care. The Foot Care Nurse plays a vital role in promoting mobility, preventing complications, and educating clients to improve their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed foot assessments, including circulation, skin integrity, and neurological checks.

  • Deliver professional foot care: nail trimming, callus and corn reduction, fungal management, and ingrown toenail care (within scope).

  • Identify complications (infections, ulcers, vascular issues) and refer to appropriate healthcare professionals.

  • Develop individualized care plans and educate clients and caregivers on proper foot care, footwear, and prevention strategies.

  • Document assessments and treatments per Quebec nursing standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, podiatrists, and other professionals for integrated care.

  • Follow infection control protocols and support community health initiatives or clinics.

Requirements:

  • Active RN or LPN license in Quebec with membership in OIIQ or OIIAQ.

  • Certified Foot Care Nurse (Basic or Advanced) from a recognized program.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in foot care or community nursing (newly certified nurses considered).

  • Strong knowledge of diabetic foot care, wound prevention, and infection control.

  • Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Bilingual (English/French) – mandatory.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (for community visits).

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of care.
